Our Origin
Workplace Adjustments India was founded by Tom Wood, Anuja Kimatrai and Rajiv Hinduja after years of global experience in the ergonomics industry. Tom brings over two decades of expertise, having spent 20 years at the UK’s largest ergonomics company, where he progressed from being an Assessor conducting ergonomic evaluations to Sales Manager leading key divisions. As part of the senior management team, he played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s global presence and contributed to its acquisition by a leading $1 billion American corporation. Anuja and Rajiv of Angel Ventures have spent the past 10 years founding and running a global business. They are specialists in furniture and lighting design and experts in sourcing as well as fulfilment and logistics. Following the acquisition, Tom left the company he worked at for 20 years and together with Angel Ventures (Anuja and Rajiv) founded Workplace Adjustments India. As a team, they realised that Western employers were committed to making reasonable adjustments for staff in India, but found it challenging due to a lack of local ergonomic expertise, as vendors in India focus on mass seating rather than individual needs. Unlike in the UK or US, tailored assessments and inclusive equipment were hard to source, making compliance with internal policies and global standards difficult. That gap led to the creation of workplaceadjustments.in - a dedicated solution offering expert guidance, product sourcing, and customised support to help employers in India provide the same level of care and accommodation to Indian employees as they provide to their Western counterparts.

What is a Workplace Adjustment?
Also referred to as 'reasonable adjustments', a workplace adjustment is a modification to a work process, practice, procedure or setting that enables a person with disability to perform their job in a way that minimises the impact of barriers they face at work.
In India, workplace adjustments, also known as reasonable accommodations, are legally mandated for employees with disabilities under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016. These adjustments are modifications to the workplace, work processes, or work environment that enable individuals with disabilities to perform their jobs effectively.
Reasonable adjustments are changes an employer makes to remove or reduce a disadvantage related to someone's disability. For example:
- Finding a different way to do something
- Making changes to the workplace
- Changing someone's working arrangements
- Providing equipment, services or support
Reasonable adjustments are specific to an individual person. They can be for physical or mental health conditions. They can cover any area of work.
It's not enough for employers to provide disabled people with exactly the same working conditions as non-disabled people. Employers must make reasonable adjustments by law.
The concept of reasonable adjustments reflects the understanding that a worker with an injury, ill health or disability can oftenperform tasks if adjustments are made to accommodate the effects of their injury, ill health or disability.
The aim of any reasonable adjustment is to minimise the impact of the injury, health problem or disability to enable the worker to fully take part in work-related programs and effectively undertake the inherent requirements of their job.
Workers face many obstacles to participating in a life in work. Reasonable adjustments that support someone’s ability to work can be effective in:
> Preventing deterioration of health and allowing employees with health problems to stay at work
> Enabling employees to stay at work or return to work after injury
> Assisting people with a disability to enter and stay in the workplace.
Our Vision
We believe that every employee, regardless of location, deserves equal access to ergonomic support and reasonable adjustments. Companies must adopt a global perspective on employee wellbeing, ensuring consistent ergonomic practices across all regions.
